Right.
A forum dedicated to serious topics, where you'd be required to make long, thought over posts.
Anyone interested?

Yes.
I'd like to MOD it, if possible.

Whats wrong with having serious threads in General Discussion? That was the problem with GameGossip. Too many forums, which made GD pretty much useless.

Just asking what people think mate ;)

I vote no, I don't have any long thoughts to write out.

No. The only time I've ever seen a somewhat serious discussion on a forum was in ARMM.

A business needs sufficient population in order to be profitable (so you won't find multiple McDonalds or a Wal-Mart in my little village).
Similarly, and I mean no disrespect to your boards, but you don't have nearly enough regular members to support so many active forums. I'd vote for such threads to stay in General Discussion for now. There's no need to distribute traffic - and make users waste clicks - when traffic is this low.
For the record, I voted no for the addition of the Art forum for the same reason. Though, the Art forum makes more sense in it's specific area of interest, whereas serious threads can easily mingle in the mass of general topic threads here in GD.

Hmm.. I agree with the arguments against, but the poll says otherwise.

I don't really see how it makes a difference. It doesn't change the amount of posts... If anything having fewer forums artificially inflates the number of pertinent posts. I vote yes, simply because having another forum for more serious "intellectual" endeavors will allow people to avoid that forum, and susequently those posts, like the plague.

I say we make long, overly thought out posts in threads that really have nothing to do with the topic of the overly thought out post.
Then we profit.

I vote no, stick it in general discussion it's not like it's flooded or anything.

Well, all the 'serious' topics and discussions at GG is one reason why I'm not as interested in it as I was before. Plus if this place doesn't want to become a GG clone, doing things differently is the way to go.

I voted no. This place doesn't nearly have enough members to support such a place.
