I'm terribly excited for this.

I'm upgrading from a Nokia 6300. This will be my first touch-screen phone ever, probably good it has Gorilla Glass.

In preparation for some of the inevitable "Why on earth didn't you get..xxxx instead?"

Fair question, let's go through 'em.

BlackBerry; We're on massive carrier lockdown for those in Denmark, and they only really come in to their own for business use. 'Sides, I actually have an older model which I'm using exclusively as a company phone. (Upgraded to that from my other HTC Windows Mobile phone.)

Android: Fragmentation and Security. Google has started to lock it down, which is a good thing, but it's not mature yet.

iPhone: No, just.. no. I have much more freedom within the Symbian platform.

So why the N8?

It's got the best camera on the market, so I don't have to lug around a digital camera with me, and if I didn't get this I was looking at buying one. Two birds, one stone.
Massive storage capability.
I absolutely love Symbian, and the next version is looking spectacular, and will be available for the N8.
Battery-Life. Most people I've seen report an easy two-day battery time, some even 4-5 days depending on usage. Most iPhone and Android owners I know constantly charge their phones, some Android owners even twice a day. (HTC Desires' are particularly shoddy here.)
Security options. I can put most endpoint security solutions on it and it's supported. iPhone has nothing, Android is spotty at best.
It's fuckin' sexy.

So. Flame away. :p

Oh my god, you stupid son of a ...

LOL, jk m8.

That phone looks cool. I just got an Atrix and so far its been soooooooo much better than my old iPhone in so many ways. Its got Gorilla glass too but I am still considering getting a screen protector. The protectors seem to be slicker and not quite as... squeaky? as glass.

I was waiting on that playstation phone but since my iPhone decided to go tits up on me, I had to get what was available now.

My battery is much better now. I went the entire weekend using it here and there and didn't have to charge it. I had to charge my iPhone every night regardless.

Swype is the shit. I won't ever go back to the regular touch keyboard.

Been playing around with it today, so far it seems like it suits all my needs perfectly.

Not without having used it for a while.

I will say this, however. It's been syncing, taking photos, sending messages, been online constantly - and I've viewed videos on it - and I still haven't pushed it down past half battery.
As far as I know, Androids and iPhones barely get a day, if that.

I'm rather happy with my Xperia Arc. Battery life could be better tho

Done some more exhaustive tests on it.

I've been messaging, facebookin', twittering n' stuff.. taken pictures, the internet is always-on - the updates keep coming and it syncs with my gmail for calendar.

I was able to have it going 4 full days without charging it. I was down to two bars last night, so I charged it. But awesome nevertheless.

Meh, wish my HTC Desire had that kind of battery life. It holds up pretty well though if I just remember to deactivate the stuff I don't use all the time.

Heh, it was even scanning wlan's in my area without me taking notice.. I disabled it now, so I wonder what kind of battery life I'll get.
