alia spilled water on her laptop, turned it off unplugged it, removed the battery, dried everything off with a towel, took a hair dryer on a cool setting to everything else, have a fan on it trying to get anything residual.... any other ideas? or am i trying to save a corpse?

nothing sparked, flashed, blew up or weird otherwise happened... thoughts? screwed or saved?

Under fans?

Shit dude, turn that shit upside down and give it 48 hours without doing anything to it.

Chances are you've managed to screw it up already!

Should have put it in the oven at just above 100F, NO BATTERY and preferedly no LCD screen. Let it cool for about 5 hours and it should have been alright. Same effect as leaving it out in a car in 90F weather. Which shouldn't be done, but neither should spilling stuff on it.

But now...

That can give the components electric thingies that are not good for the components.

Shadow; The blowdryer thing freaks me out..

Alex; Do you mean Electrostatic Discharge?

I'm assuming he didn't physically pry the case open..

Sounds bad.. hope ya get it up running again.

I've only tried spilling cola and coffee on my cheap $5 keyboard. Took it apart, washed it, put it back together again and no sticky keys. That's why I always buy cheap mice and keyboards.. too much spillage of coffee and cola. I've never seen the point in having a laptop ever since the first and only one I bought back in '99. No trouble with electronics getting ruined by liquids ;P

Yeah I always buy the trusty Logitech Media Keyboard, replace it when I wear it down.

If this was a desktop only your keyboard would be fucked.
