A naked woman.
As simple as that, skinny, fat, ugly, beautiful. Is the female body art?
I vote yes, the female body is the creator of live.. the epitome of human perfection.

I think art as most people define it needs to be created. Something that just is, I wouldn't consider art. It's beautiful, and it's surreal, but it's not art. Art would be capturing the majesty of the female form in some creative medium, and creating the feelings and thoughts that it provokes.
So, no, I wouldn't consider a body to be art, anymore than any other natural artifact.

But pictures of naked women, and men, have been portrayed as art since.. well.. forever.

Exactly. Pictures have been portrayed as art. A body isn't something that's created to elicit feelings and ideas, it just is. The artist capturing a body is art, but a body itself is meaningless.

I suppose it would depend on the content and style of the picture.

Well, we've already decided that Photography and Paintings of the female body can be considered art. The question (I think) is whether or not a female body on its own is art (not a photo or painting) I think that a female body can be a medium, or a subject of art, but not art on its own.

Definately.
There's nothing more beautiful than the female form and all its potential.

Pictures, paintings, drawings, sculptures...If the female body is in the form of art then yes, it is art. I, for one, enjoy nude art as long as it is tasteful. I do not consider pornography to be art, however. I'm not sure that I'd consider the female body as art if you were just looking at a nude person. Like Yeyende said, I think it is a medium for art, not art itself. I know that I don't look at myself and think "Wow, I'm art", but I'll look at people and think that it would be fun to draw them or paint them or take a photo of them.

The female body is pretty, so is the male body.
The female body does not create art on its own, would be freaky if it did. The male body also helps in the creation of life, we just spill most of our 'help' in dirty socks.

I do feel that a persons body can be art.. what you see is what they put into it.. whether athletic, average, or obese, their body is their mark, that is that person... now I'm not saying I define people by their bodies.. I'm just saying I see people as just another animal.

A naked female can be art but beauty is in the eye of teh beholder.

I'd say no. Something you make with your hands is art. Not something nature has created.

The portrayal of it definately can be, but I wouldn't say the actual flesh infront of you is art. As some people have said, it wasn't really created by anyone. Some artists have made their bodies an artwork (see Orlan, ick) through things such as surgery and performance art. To be art, it surely must have an "artist" or maker. Reminder here that "art" isn't just defined as "something to look at", it has a bit more meaning than that... We do a lot of this kind of thing in art lectures. I should dig up some lecture notes.
